Answer Blog # 4

1. Describe or define KBS.
--A Knowledge Based System as a computer system that is programmed to imitate human problem-solving by means of artificial intelligence and reference to a database of knowledge on a particular subject.
2. Distinguish KBS from MIS.
KBS or Knowledge Based System have the potential to extend a manager's problem solving ability beyond his or her normal capabilities. WHILE MIS or Management Information System focuses on operational effeciency. It includes marketing, production, finance and other functional areas that are supported by management information sysytem and limked through a common database.
3. Illustrate and give examples on how KBS can improve company's competitive advantage and organizational performance.
All managers have a duties and responsibilities inside the company like managing the work or even the employees on how they peform their job well. As a manager, he or she evaluate the performance of the employees at the same time he or she manages all the activities inside the company.
Like for example, in decision making about their plan to improve productivity inside the organization, the manager has a right to decide the better strategies to be done before his/her subordinates. Though his/her own capabilities, he/she can decide the good decision for the improvement or productivity of the company.
